Thank yous all around! The Etsy Greetings team is having a thank you card promo. Free domestic shipping on "thank you" cards from any participating shops. Visit here to find the cards offered in this promotion. Click on any of the cards and you will directed to the listing for that card.
This is great for any last minute or *almost* forgotten thank you's from the holidays (sorry Grandma!) and a fantastic opportunity to stock up for the upcoming year. Nothing is worse than having to buy an appropriate thank you card under duress.
Our promo runs January 5th-15th.

I'm in Heaven.....

Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to find the happiness I seek,
When I saw this contest, ending next week.
OK, my apologies to Irving Berlin, the creator of the song "Cheek to Cheek". But really, when there is a prize of 637 pieces of Chiyogami paper from The Paper Place, it does seem excusable, no?
I feel obligated to tell you to enter their contest if you are a Paper Lover like me, but I hope that you don't, because the less competition, the better!

had a nice day
I'm disappointed to say that there wasn't any actual rioting at Craft Riot (false advertising), but it was a very pleasant day anyway.
The traffic & sales were modest, but enjoyable. I was able to meet a fellow CCCOEer, scoped out a few others, saw some really beautiful jewelery and best of all, spent the day with the bf.
For an inaugural craft show, it was very well organized. Sign in was easy, they gave vendors frees tickets for lunch, and the coordinators even came around to say hi and introduce themselves to all the tables. There were a few things here and there that I think would have made the event better, but all in all, it was a good first show.
I made an origami Christmas Tree for the table! The tree is 4 pieces of Envelopments paper that I folded and then assembled and stands about 20 inches in height. Feel free to sing "O Tannenbaum" while viewing.

I'll drink to that

Tomorrow, America celebrates a little known holiday that is near and dear to many a person's heart. The irony is that the majority of those people don't even know about it. It's not an official holiday like Veteran's Day, President's Day, or Christmas. And as far as I know, you can't buy a string of lights to show the world you celebrate it.
What is this mystery holiday?
Repeal Day. December 5th, 1933 the 21st Amendment was ratified, allowing Americans to drink the sweet, sweet nectar that is a Long Island Iced Tea. (That drink came later, but just like James Burke from Connections, you see how it all works out.)
So do your American duty and have yourself a drink tomorrow. Personally, I'll be having a quiet celebration at home with loved ones, drinking Grasshoppers and eating Ham Cornucopia hors d'oeuvres. (Mix cream cheese with a little minced onion and drained sweet pickle relish. Spread on thin slices of boiled ham. Roll cornucopia fashion, chill.)
I've never been more proud to be an American.
A thank you to this website for the picture!

Gentle nudge
Just a reminder, my little chickadees.... I will be removing everything from my shop this Friday, the 5th, for Craft Riot. These cards may not be coming back, so if you have your eye on something, now is the time to grab it, or forever hold your peace.

It's Deja Vu all over again

These are a few of my favorite things
I'm like Oprah, but without my own Gayle, tv show, wealth or really annoying voice. Even with all of the minuses, I've still managed to put together a list of my favorite things.

CRAFT RIOT Card-A-Day
Thanksgiving Greetings, pilgrim.
You'll soon be having a feast for the tummy, so indulge in a feast for the eyes. Today through Friday, Dec. 5th, I'll be posting a card-a-day on my flickr page. This is a preview of some of the cards I'll be selling at Craft Riot on Saturday, Dec. 6th.
And not to threaten you or anything, but I will be removing most, if not all, of the cards from my shop for the show in West Hollywood, so buy now or forever hold your peace.
To take the sting out of my low level threat, I am offering free shipping on all purchases on Friday, November 28th. Now dry those tears and have some pumpkin pie!

"S" is for Snarky
I'm in a treasury, curated by AMOzarkian. It's a good group of bitchy, snarky cards, buttons and pads o' paper.
Thanks!

Thanks!

donating support
Mission Soldier Support has wrapped up for the Christmas (and other winter holidays) card donation drive. Rachel of Captured Time Books writes a nice little blurb about each person who has donated cards on her blog. I donated cards again, for the holidays. I support the people, not the war.

current & upcoming ways to check out my cards....
*One of my cards is in a very lovely treasury, created by rephilosophy. Please take a look!
*Also, if you're in my neck of the Southern California woods, you can check out my cards next weekend (Nov. 15-16). They will be sold at a coworker's annual holiday boutique. I won't be there (I have to work, sigh), but my cards sure will! Leave a comment here, or convo me at my etsy shop for more info.
*And last but not least, I hope to participate in the Craft Riot: West Hollywood Craft Fair on Saturday, December 6th. I say "hope", because I haven't sent in my application yet and I'm hoping that they aren't full. You'll know when I do!

Halloween promo for the Etsy Greetings Team is underway!

Hey you! The second and final week for the Etsy Greetings Team Halloween promo is now on. This one ends next week on Monday, the 20th. So if you're hankerin' for some treats, swing on by and trick or treat with us!
The rules are simple:
There is a list of this week’s participating sellers and another list of Halloween words that can be found in the shops. These words will be found in the TITLE of the listing.
Visit each shop, find a listing with ONE of the words and click on the item (each shop name can only be used for one Halloween word). Notate the listing number.
(Found on the right side of the page, under the heading “additional item info”.)
Once you have trick or treated at each shop, please contact SarahKatesKreations with your list. She will email you your coupon and enter you in the drawing for a pack of cards!
Get started here, at the Trick-or-Treating with EtsyGreetings thread.
Have a spooktacular time!

The Handmade Movement
I was introduced to a great new site called Handmade Movement. This site coordinates "sneak attacks" on Etsy shops that have low sales and encourages people to flood that shop with sales. Of course, you don't have to participate, but I think that the idea behind it is fabulous.
The site also sponsors giveaways and I believe that one of my cards will be up for grabs in the future. I'll keep ya posted.
